This year, the Galaxy A23 will be the third-cheapest device in Samsung's popular Galaxy A series. The low-cost phone has now been revealed in a leak, revealing its expected specifications as well as a modern design that is consistent with Samsung's current devices.
Over the next few months, Samsung plans to release a number of devices in its best-selling Galaxy A series. The Galaxy A53 was extensively leaked a while ago, and the latest leak sheds light on what will be one of the lineup's most affordable offerings, the Galaxy A23.
The Galaxy A23 is expected to launch with a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display, similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy A22 5G. The A23 is also expected to use the same MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset as the A22 5G. The 7 nm Dimensity 700 is a powerful SoC in that segment, and it compares favourably to Qualcomm's competitors. The A23 is expected to be available in 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB configurations.
The Galaxy A23 will, according to the source, forego the A22's 48 MP main camera in favour of a 50 MP shooter, most likely the JN1. The same sensor can be found on the similarly positioned Xiaomi Redmi 10. An 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro shooter are said to be included with the camera. A 5000 mAh battery and 15 W charging are also included. As it stands, the A23 will keep the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Galaxy A23 appears to be ditching its predecessor's square camera module in favour of a triple-stacked module similar to the Galaxy S21 FE's. The Galaxy A53 will also have a similar design, indicating that Samsung is unifying its design language this year.
